Living with Temporaries
Temporaries hold your space while permanent restorations are crafted. Take extra care:
- Avoid hard, crunchy, or very chewy foods
- Avoid staining foods and drinks — coffee, red wine, dark sauces — as temporaries stain more readily than porcelain
- When flossing, slide floss out from the side rather than lifting up
- Some sensitivity to temperature and chewing is normal and resolves once permanent restorations are placed
For post-appointment discomfort: 600 mg ibuprofen every 6 hours (max 3,200 mg/day).
Gum Care Between Appointments
Healthy gums are essential for a great final result. Use the syringes provided to rinse the gumline with water 3-4 times daily until your final appointment.
Adjusting to Your New Smile
After permanent restorations are placed, allow a few days to adapt. Your brain needs time to adjust to the new bite position. Temporary sensitivity and minor speech changes are normal and resolve within a week.
Warm saltwater rinses (1 tsp salt in warm water) reduce gum sensitivity and swelling after placement appointments.

Long-Term Care
Maintain with twice-daily brushing, daily flossing, and regular professional cleanings. Porcelain restorations are durable but not indestructible — avoid biting nails, ice, or hard objects.
