Hygiene at UNO is 45–60 minutes of focused attention, not the 15-minute polish you'll get at corporate offices. We catch issues early so they stay small and inexpensive.

Every cleaning includes a head-and-neck oral cancer check, periodontal probing, digital X-rays when due, and time for real conversation with your hygienist. We'll show you exactly what we see in your mouth on a chairside monitor — no jargon, no scare tactics. If you grind, clench, or snore, we can scan you for a custom night guard the same visit.

Cracked tooth, lost crown, sudden pain, knocked-out tooth, dental abscess. We hold same-day slots every weekday and triage by phone before you arrive — call us first at 415-397-2804 and we'll often save you a trip with a remote consult or get you seated within hours.

UNO is open Mon–Wed 8:30 am to 8:30 pm and Thu–Fri 10 am to 5 pm, so after-work emergencies are covered when most offices have already closed. We'll stabilize the tooth, address the pain, and give you a clear plan and estimate before any treatment begins. If sedation, antibiotics, or a referral are needed, those are explained up front — no surprise bills after the fact.

Gentle, mercury-free dentistry for kids — first visits, sealants, fluoride, sports guards, and a calm, distraction-friendly office that doesn't traumatize anyone. We use the "tell-show-do" approach: kids learn what's about to happen, see the instrument first, and the visit moves at their pace. No restraint boards, no shaming, no pressure.

Our team understands what a calm first dental visit means for the rest of a child's life. We schedule kids during quieter office hours, hand out small wins (stickers, prize chest), and keep parents in the room throughout. Sealants, fluoride varnish, and custom mouthguards for sports are all available same-visit.

Sedation Dentistry

SEDATION
DENTISTRY

Nitrous oxide and oral sedation for anxiety-friendly visits, plus computer-controlled "Wand" injections for needle-shy patients. With nitrous you stay fully relaxed but alert and responsive; with oral sedation you'll feel drowsy and detached but still able to follow instructions. Both wear off the same day so you don't lose a workday.

We screen every patient's medical history before sedation and walk you through what to expect — exactly what you'll feel, when it'll wear off, and who needs to drive you home (if anyone). For dental phobia, we'll combine sedation with noise-cancelling headphones, weighted blankets, and frequent check-ins. Your job is to relax; ours is to keep you safe and informed.

PERIODONTAL
TREATMENT

Gum disease care, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, and laser-assisted treatment for early to advanced periodontitis. We diagnose with full periodontal charting at every cleaning so we catch attachment loss before it becomes tooth loss.

UNO offers conservative, non-surgical periodontal therapy with localized antibiotics and laser-assisted decontamination when indicated, plus surgical referral coordination if your case requires it. Many of our patients come to us already losing bone or being told they need extraction — we'll give you an honest second opinion and a realistic stabilization plan before anything irreversible happens.
