Numbness & Sensitivity
For a few hours after your appointment, your mouth, lips, tongue, and cheeks may feel numb. Mild sensitivity to hot, cold, and chewing is normal and typically resolves within one to two days.
Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) can help with any soreness. Contact our office if numbness persists beyond a few days.
Eating Guidelines
You can resume eating normally right after your appointment. However, wait until the numbing wears off before chewing to avoid accidentally biting your cheek or tongue.
Avoid very hot foods and beverages until full sensation returns.
